What goes into each figure
Copart UK: the buyer fee from Copart's published member table (higher for members buying fewer than 12 cars a year), the internet bid fee and the £50 lot retrieval fee, with 20% VAT on all three. At a £500 hammer that is buyer fee £145.00, internet bid fee £39.00, lot retrieval fee £50.00, vat on fees (20%) £46.80.
SalvageMarket: the buyer fee from its published table, the £35 admin fee and the yard's own site fee, with 20% VAT on all three. At £500 with an £85 site fee that is buyer fee £143.00, admin fee £35.00, site fee (set by the yard) £85.00, vat on fees (20%) £52.60. Some yards bill on their own table, as ASM's police disposals do, and the yearly bidding subscription is per buyer, not per lot, so neither is in these sums. Storage and late payment charges are extra on both.
